Sexual Harassment: Don’t let it go Unknown

Sexual harassment is not a joke. According to the Connecticut Sexual Assault Crisis Services, Inc. website, men, women and children of all ages, races, religions, and economic classes can be and have been victims of sexual assault.  Sexual assault occurs in rural areas, small towns and larger cities.  It is estimated that one in three girls and one in six boys will be sexually assaulted by the age of eighteen.  According to the U.S. Department of Justice, a rape or attempted rape occurs every 5 minutes in the United States.

Sexual assault is never the victim’s fault.  Sexual assault is a violent attack on an individual, not a spontaneous crime of sexual passion.  For a victim, it is a humiliating and degrading act.  No one asks for this, or deserves this type of attack.

Sexual harassment can occur anywhere: in a home, in a playground, and even in your office. Unfortunately, most unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, lewd behavior and uncomfortable conversations are often gone unnoticed.

Many victims feel uneasy admitting what has happened to them, due to fear of negative consequences.

If you or someone you love has been the victim of sexual harassment or assault, then it is a good idea to call a private investigator in New York City.

A private investigator in New York City can ensure your safety. Your private investigator will investigate the area. Say you are being sexually harassed in your office, for instance. Having a private investigator around will ensure that the sexual harassment is indeed taking place and will even know who the suspect is.

It is a shame that so many people in this world go through sexual harassment, and yet so little of it goes reported. According to http://www.workharassment.net/, a study proved that in 1997 close to 16,000 charges were filed. In 2007, this number dropped to 12,510.

There is no joking around with sexual harassment; it is a serious act and should be patrolled with a private investigator, no matter whether you are experiencing sexual harassment in the workplace or anywhere else.

  3. Often employees are assaulted sexually, but they avoid reporting such offences. For the purpose of definition of sexual harassment the Supreme Court said that, the sexual harassment includes such unwelcome sexually determined behaviour (whether directly or by implication) as : . The implications from such a decision are wide-ranging, and have particular relevance for other employees who are being victimised in a similar manner.
